The Investment Mentality

Gaining the right mindset for abundance

The path to financial freedom and independence all begins with the right mindset. Without the proper perspective and focus, we might feel overwhelmed and powerless to achieve our goals.

Here are a few changes I had to make when I started on my journey to financial freedom:

Starting line

Everyone starts somewhere, don't compare

All the business tycoons in the world today started from humble beginnings- Steve Jobs started his company Apple in his garage, Henry Sy started from a poor family until he eventually opened his own shoe store, and Lucio Tan mopped floors to pay for his schooling.

There is no shortcut to financial freedom, and everyone has to work towards it in one way or another. We each have our own timeline, and we have to run at our own pace. Stop comparing, and start running!

Control

Only you can control your own actions

We all have different circumstances, but only we can choose how we respond to them. In our finances and in life, we must recognize that we have the control. We must stop relying on others completely, and stop

blaming them as well for the predicament we are in.

Only when we have settled our issues of dependence and blame, can we take control of our path to financial freedom. Stop waiting for others to throw you a bone or to say they were wrong, and start taking control of your own life!

Continuous Learning

There must be a constant pursuit for improvement

Complacency must be thrown out the door. Without the proper hunger to learn and to grow, we will not be able to reach our dreams. There are certain habits we must develop in order to grow.

Read books, watch videos, attend seminars- do what you must to learn, grow, and master your craft!

Starting out as an unemployed college graduate, I had nothing under my belt. I had to change my poor man's mentality and take action. I attended seminars, opened a stock brokerage account, started investing, and found multiple streams of income. Without the proper mindset, I might have given up without even starting!
